Our Team

Sarah McElvaney

Sarah is a technology attorney with a history developing strong business relationships, streamlining legal processes while advancing business objectives. Her experience is primarily in-house, focused on delivering practical legal guidance related to software licensing, software-as-a-service (SaaS), procurement, privacy, strategic alliance agreements, and protection of intellectual property, as well as pre- and post-acquisition integration of companies or intellectual property in fast-paced environments. She has been recognized for building cross-functional relationships and have broad experience balancing efficient and speed with risk tolerance and risk mitigation while delivering on client’s business objectives.

Tanya Avila

After starting her legal career at a little known internet company (GoDaddy.com), Tanya moved to Austin, TX where she started and lead several legal teams for start up/technology companies. Her most recent adventure has her starting over in Colorado, bring legal tech and start up law to the sleepy town of Castle Rock.

As a result of her tech expertise, she made a habit of being the first in house counsel for start-up/high growth technology companies. Throughout her career, she has focused on integrating legal strategy, operational efficiency, and business sense into the role of the legal department in growing technology companies. She graduated from Arizona State University and ASU College of Law. She is also a member of the Arizona and Texas state bars, Colorado pending. In her spare time, she watches HGTV and enjoys spending time with the future boy band, “The Avila Boys”, aka her sons.
